Camping South Holland: Just what you need
Camp sites in Zuid Holland are an ideal destination for a holiday on the coast with or without children. Besides enjoying a relaxing day sunbathing on the beach at Scheveningen for example, Holland’s most famous resort, there is plenty of space around Zuid Holland camp sites for walking or horse riding through the dunes and woods. Or of course go sailing on the water. You are, after all in the Netherlands, Waterland!
A camp site in Zuid Holland is also an excellent base for plenty of great days out such as Madourodam, the miniature Holland or the spectacular amusement park Duinrell with playgrounds, a play park and a tropical swimming paradise, all located in the dunes near Wassenaar and The Hague. Camping in Zuid Holland is perfect in combination with one or more days in Rotterdam, home of Europe’s biggest harbour, or stately Den Haag (The Hague), the seat of Dutch government! In either city you can go non-stop shopping or just enjoy the sun at a typical Dutch pavement café in the town. Recommended for tourists are the smaller towns of Zuid Holland with centuries old centres, such as Delft, Gouda and Leiden. Gouda is known throughout the world for the Dutch cheese bearing its name. The resort of Scheveningen buzzes with activity and its beach is dominated by the more than one hundred year old Kurhaus luxury hotel. As distances are not great you can easily make a visit from this province to the lively capital Amsterdam in Noord Holland..
