Did not know anything about this area, usually just passed through but the area was stunningly beautiful with lovely chateaux and well kept towns and villages and excellent restaurants that were so reasonably priced

!5 minute walk to the centre of Saintes with some interesting buildings and old town. Amphitheatre worth visiting.
