Very much. Miraira is a nice town not like Calpe or Benidorm. Harbour and restaurants not so far to walk.

We love the area for the Alicante interior. Stars from this camping must be the castle of Villena and its church. The tourist office in Villena was very helpful and the town has a very spanish feel. "Las Virtudes" cooperative has excellent wines. It is in Villena not in the village. Don't miss the neghbouring town "Bair", smaller and equily attractive. En Espanol:Nos encanta la zona del interior de Alicante. Las estrellas de este campamento deben ser el castillo de Villena y su iglesia. La oficina de turismo en Villena fue muy servicial y la ciudad tiene un ambiente muy español. La cooperativa "Las Virtudes" tiene excelentes vinos. Está en Villena, no en el pueblo. No te pierdas el pueblo vecino "Bair", más pequeño e igualmente atractivo.

good region for walking away from the coast

Generally over developed. Javea is the only area saved from this and so has an old charm.
