The Gaalgebierg campsite is located in a quiet forested area on a hill near the former industrial town of Esch-sur-Alzette. The campsite is well maintained and is wonderfully quiet and green. Directly next door there is a zoo (free access) and there are numerous sports fields and city gardens in the immediate vicinity. Esch-sur-Alzette is located in the "Terre Rouge" region, an area of former mines and heavy industry. There are lovely walks in the surrounding area.

Out if the way up a long steep road. Site looks uncared for, pitches and pathways overgrown with weeds and shrubbery. Resident vans were filthy and area around them unclean and not looked after. such a pity as Deer park was lovely and staff were pleasant.
