Camp sites in the Dolomites: the obstinate Italian Alps

Camp sites in the North Italian Alps, the Dolomites, are located in the most beautiful Alpine region on the borders of Tyrol and Carinthia in Austria. The alternative name for Trentino/Alto Adige is Südtirol. In large parts of this area German, not Italian is spoken.

Camping in the Dolomites: extraordinarily beautiful and pure nature

In winter the mountains of Trentino-Alto Adige are covered in snow for three months, but in the deep valleys it is still mild. During the summer the camp sites in the Dolomites are a sea of beautifully coloured flowers. Camp site in the Dolomites have for ages been loved by mountain climbers, nature lovers and travellers who enjoy the unusual countryside.

You will find many castles close to your camp site in the Dolomites because there have been many conflicts throughout history between the Austrians and the Italians. The hospitality of the people is demonstrated by the so-called rifugi: houses and cabins in Tyrolean style with lovely wooden balconies to enjoy the winter sun and overhanging roofs to keep the snow away.

Simply stunning! Anywhere is beautiful in this area, with all the mountain views. Endless options are available for hiking and or skiing. Very well organised tourist destination.
