Fancy a holiday at a quiet campsite with a lovely swimming pool for your children? Then Camping La Garenne is the place for you! The Périgord Noir region is the most well-known and touristic part of the Dordogne department. But you won't notice the crowds at this campsite! Set amongst oak and coniferous trees, La Garenne is an idyllic place where you can relax and unwind. The Vézère River is located about 7 kilometres from the campsite and offers plenty of fun water recreation activities. This campsite is an ideal base for exploring all the Périgord Noir has to offer. The nearest village of Peyrignac is less than a 2-minute walk from the campsite. So you can easily go shopping when needed.

Small friendly site where facilities were partially available at this time of year (early March). Bakery in the village and some good dog walking routes were clearly marked.

Would have helped to have multi-language instructions for washing machine as it was not clear that it required a token (jeton)

We love to cycle and did/ do it all around Europe but mostly in France. We’ve been on a lot camping’s during the past years. So, there is a possibility to compare! We stayed a week, it was quiet, mostly we were alone. The man who welcomed us was nice and friendly. So is the camping place. Most cabins/wooden chalets. Just a few camping / camper spots. Not the nicest place with the best view, but it was a good place and dry/ strong, good for the van.

We’ve been a week and they didn’t clean the showers/ washing cabins and toilet one time!!! That was really annoying and dirty. That made our stay a one time achievement for sure!
